Kim Kaedashian's Spotlight
Kim Kardashian invited all of us into her life by opening the door to their lives in their reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which debuted in October 2007. We've gotta give her points for that. Kim Kardashian was born to be famous. The daughter of O.J. Simpson trial lawyer Robert Kardashian and the stepdaughter of Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner, this voluptuous beauty has been surrounded by celebrities from the moment she entered the world. Kim is the co-owner of a California-based retail fashion store which she operates with her sisters Kourtney and Khloe. “I opened the store myself,” she says, defending her work ethic. “Even Paris and Nicole -- they’re completely independent too.”
The pair’s infamous coupling went under the microscope when the tabloid press began reporting that one of their private sex tapes had been leaked. Although Kim Kardashian at first denied the video’s existence, the tape’s validity was later confirmed when it was sold to porn purveyor Vivid Video for the lofty sum of $1 million. Although some suspect that Kim Kardashian may have been responsible for leaking the video herself, she remained steadfast that she has been uninvolved in its sale and distribution. She also made it abundantly clear that she didn’t suspect her ex-boyfriend was involved.
Kim Kardashian is the star of her family's reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which premiered in October 2007. The babe also bared all in the December 2007 issue of Playboy. So, if you missed the illicit sex tape, you can't miss seeing this voluptuous vixen sprawled out in the magazine.
Justin Long's Spotlight
Muscles, athleticism and raw, unbridled masculinity can only get you so far, boys. Justin Long may not be able to launch a javelin 50 feet, or crush a beer can against his skull, but we're pretty sure he can confidently discuss the collected works of Michael Chabon while helping your mother with the ceviche she's preparing for dinner. If the age-old adage is true -- and judging by those steamy paparazzi pics of Justin Long and his on-again off-again lover Drew Barrymore going at it on the beach, it is -- then the actor should have no problem beating his jock counterparts for babes. Although his introduction to mainstream audiences as plucky Warren Cheswick in NBC's series Ed was brief, Justin Long has parlayed it into one of the most diverse film careers in recent memory. He's done the teen scream thing with Jeepers Creepers, as well as the tween dream thing with Britney Spears' Crossroads. He's yukked it up as Vince Vaughan's goofy sidekick in the Ben Stiller-directed Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, and reunited with Vaughan as Jennifer Aniston's flamboyant friend in The Break-Up. After headlining the frat boy flick Accepted, Long tried his hand at action, playing a computer hacker opposite Bruce Willis' John McClane in Live Free or Die Hard. He followed that up with a role in the all-star ensemble romcom He's Just Not That Into You. If that isn't enough variety for you, Justin Long appeared opposite Michael Cera in the cynical sexcapade Youth In Revolt, tried his hand at horror in Sam Raimi's Drag Me To Hell and shares the screen with Liam Neeson and Christina Ricci in the upcoming psychological thriller After Life. Clearly this kid is doing something right.
To say that stardom was in the cards for a young Justin Long may be a bit of stretch. The diminutive teen, whose father was a philosophy professor and mother a Broadway actress, attended Fairfield College Prep, where he was voted "Most likely not to be seen in class." But after joining the sketch comedy troupe Laughingstock while attending Vassar College, Long discovered the natural comedic ability that would help define his career. His strong performances throughout college earned him attention from people who mattered. Still, perhaps due to his lack of idol-esque qualities, Long was skeptical. "I knew I wanted to be an actor but I never thought that acting was a reality, and that I could make money as an actor. I just assumed I would struggle and maybe do plays and stuff." If by struggle he meant excel, and by plays he meant high-profile feature films, then he was spot on.
Shakira's Spotlight
At just under 5' tall, Shakira is a firecracker of mixed Colombian and Lebanese genes. If you've seen her live or in a music videos, it's easy to get caught up in her sexy dance moves. It might seem like Shakira is just trying to seductively show off her body -- not that anyone's complaining -- but Shakira says it's all due to her love of belly dancing.
A Sony exec referred to a young Shakira as a "lost cause" while a choir teacher said she had a goat's voice. Shakira is enjoying the last laugh, thanks to multiple Latin Grammy awards, American Grammys and a crown as the biggest-grossing Colombian artist in history. With 50 million albums sold, Shakira's success has been solidified by records like Laundry Service and her Oral Fixation. Already in the top five of the most successful artists since 2000, Shakira is also the first South American musician to top the Billboard, the United World, the UK Singles, and the Australia charts.
Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll's musical journey began just a few short years after her birth on February 2, 1977, in Barranquilla, Atlantico, Colombia. Growing up, Shakira enjoyed watching her father create poetry on the family typewriter, and at age 4, she wrote her first one, "La Rosa de Cristal." Following the sudden death of her brother, Shakira penned her first song at age 8 and eventually turned to performing. She remembers her first performance as an impromptu dance on a restaurant table as a child, much to the delight of her family and fellow patrons.
